Elder asks customers to provide food on the placement in line with what is usually bought for the care recipient. Please note this may not include food that is appropriate for specific dietary requirements.
It is up to the customer to decide how they wish to provide food. When viewing a placement advert on the Elder Hub, you can read about the relevant food arrangements in the ‘Care Environment’ section. If this information is not listed on the placement advert, please notify Elder and we will contact the customer to request that they update the profile.
When applying for work be sure to check the placement advert for food allowance as this will vary per placement. Some customers prefer to give carers a ‘food allowance’ between £30-40, either in person or in addition to carer's weekly pay to organise groceries. Certain customers might prefer to buy food themselves and therefore 'food allowance' will not be provided.
