Claiming reimbursement

Travel reimbursement can now be claimed within ElderHub. You'll need to complete the form for each journey. Ensure you have a copy of your receipts as you'll need to provide Elder with a clear copy.

To claim reimbursement:

  1. If you are on placement, the claim travel reimbursement button will be on your homepage

  2. If you are claiming reimbursement after placement has been completed, head to your profile by clicking on your profile picture and click on claim travel expenses button

  3. Here you will be able to complete the form for each journey travelled

A journey is defined as travelling from one place to another, it may be made up of several legs, for instance, a bus to the train station and a train to the address.

  • For public transport claims, please attach your receipts and/or tickets clearly showing the date of travel and cost. Blurry images and receipts/tickets not including the date may be rejected.

  • For fuel claims, please include confirmation of your postcode so we can calculate your mileage. Fuel is reimbursed at £0.35 per mile and covers the distance between your registered address and the postcode of the placement. Feel free to attach any photos of your VAT receipt for reference.

We will not reimburse receipts that are sent three months after the initial travel date.

Please note: Reimbursements will be added to your payment summary the Monday after the date of travel. If you are claiming a reimbursement after you have already travelled, then it will appear in a payment summary the Monday after you submit your claim.
