Your profile video

Profile videos are a great way to introduce yourself to prospective clients!

Updated over 2 months ago

We strongly encourage all carers on the Elder Platform to have an profile video and profile picture. They help you to introduce yourself to prospective clients alongside your placement applications. The profile video is a great way for you to show off your personality and talk about your professional experience!

Your profile video

Your profile video is a short clip that allows you to introduce yourself to prospective customers and clients. Similar to your profile picture, we want this video to make you shine!

To make a high-quality video, you might want to consider the following:

  • Filming in a light room or outside

  • We recommend 20-30 seconds per question

  • Find a quiet place with no background noise

  • Keep the camera still and straight to your face

  • Smile - imagine you're talking directly to the customer and their loved one

  • Most importantly - be yourself!

We recommend following the structure below and answering some of the following to make your video stand out:

  • Start the video by saying hello and your name ("Hello, my name...)

  • Tell us a bit about your background before you became a carer.

  • What do you like to do in your spare time when you're not working?

  • What three words would you use to describe yourself?

  • What qualities do you think make a good carer?

  • What makes you proud to be a carer?

  • What techniques do you use to promote your client's independence?

  • How do you try to build a positive relationship with your client?

  • What is one of your favourite memories with a client?

  • End the video saying thank you and goodbye.

Don’t worry if it takes a few attempts to film a video - it will make a big difference to your profile, so it’s important you feel confident that it gives a great impression of you.

Please note: You should keep confidentiality in your video. You should not include others in your video, nor should you disclose identifying information of previous clients.
