How do I plan my work schedule?

A guide to planning your work schedule when applying for placements

Updated over 4 years ago

Continuity of care matters.

It helps to ensure that clients are receiving care that meets their needs, with consistency and familiarity.

We have designed a scheduling function to make it easier for you to plan your work in advance. When making a placement application, you'll find the scheduling function under ‘Work Schedule’, as shown below:

We’ll ask you to select a rota that works best for you.

First, select the length of time you wish to spend on placement in ‘Weeks on placement’.

Second, select the amount of time you wish to have on breaks in ‘Weeks between placements’.

Feel free to indicate that no options work if that's the case, though keep in mind that this may mean you won't be selected by the client.

If you’re a primary carer, we’ll ask about your preferred break schedule once you’ve arrived at your placement. After 14 days, we’ll expect you to confirm your first three breaks. This will help to ensure a respite carer is ready and prepared to cover.
