Editing and updating your profile

Keep your profile up to date to increase your chances of securing work

Updated over 3 months ago

Families often select a carer based on which profile resonates with them the most. Your profile is your opportunity to shine, we strongly encourage you to keep this updated to increase your chances of securing work on the Elder platform.

View your profile

When you first open ElderHub, you'll land on the Home page. Head to the Menu Bar and click on your name, then open 'My Profile'.

If you click on 'View profile', this will show the version of your profile that prospective clients and customers see when you apply for a placement.

Edit your profile

You'll be able to update some sections of your profile directly on ElderHub. When it comes to Videos, Certificates, Skills and Conditions, you'll need to contact the Elder team to make any edits on your behalf. You can reach out to us via Elder Chat or email at [email protected].

Preferred Name

Let families know you better by sharing your preferred name. We know that some carers on the platform wish to be called by a nickname. You’ll now be able to do this yourself within ElderHub, to do this:

1. Click the pencil button in the top right corner of your profile

2. Enter your preferred name

Profile Picture

Your profile picture is the first part of your profile clients will see, an up-to-date picture builds trusts and credibility so it’s really important that it gives an accurate reflection of what you look like. You're able to edit and update your profile picture directly on ElderHub. To do this:

1. Click the pencil button in the top right corner of your profile

2. Select and upload your new profile picture

Profile Video
Your introductory video is an important part of your profile, helping customers to get a great insight into your personality. Learn more about introductory videos and how to update them here or watch our sample video here

Certificates and training

Carers who add certificates and training to their profile are much more likely to secure placement opportunities. They tend to make clients and customers feel more comfortable about your ability to deliver quality, person-centred care.

Personal statement and hobbies

These sections allow you to give prospective customers and clients more information about what makes you, you! Let them know how fantastic you are and give them an insight into the things you enjoy.

We suggest that you try to make these sections as detailed as possible. Be sure to spell-check everything so it's easy to read. You might want to include some of the following information:

Personal statement:

  • Tell us about you

  • What motivated you to become a carer

  • An overview of your work experience to date

  • Your approach to person-centred care

  • A happy memory from your care work to date

Hobbies and interests:

  • Activities that you enjoy doing in your spare time

  • Your interests and anything that you're passionate about beyond care work

Work experience

Clients will want to know about your work experience to date so that they can make an informed decision when selecting the right carer for their loved one. It's important to complete this section in full and keep it up to date.

For each previous professional experience, please provide us with contact details for a reference. A glowing reference can really help you stand out to potential clients.

You can update your work experience within ElderHub. To do this:

1. Go to your profile by clicking your name in the top right corner and choosing "My profile"

2. On top of the page, you will have the option to go into "Edit profile" mode

3. Please scroll down the page and go to the "Work experience and references" section and click "Add prior work experience to my profile”

4. It will open up a page where you can fill in your reference's details.
