How do payments work with Elder?
Elder processes payments for self-employed carers on Mondays, though it can take until 6pm for payments to be processed. Please note that on Bank Holidays, payments are made on the next working day as banks are closed on Bank Holidays.
Earning summaries are calculated and sent by email on Mondays for work completed over the previous seven days. The payment itself is then made on the following Monday. In other words, we calculate the earning summaries first and then transfer the sum a week later.
Earnings summaries are calculated for 7 days of work starting from 12:30pm on Mondays. As an example, if you start a one-week placement on Wednesday 3rd, your first summary will be calculated on the following Monday 8th for five days of work. You’ll receive your payment for those five days on the following Monday (15th). The remaining two days of work will be included in a second earning summary cycle Monday (15th) and then processed for payment one week later on the following Monday (22nd).
Payment history
You can find a record of your earnings history on the ElderHub. To find your paid summaries:
Click on your name in the top right corner
Choose “Payment History”
Each summary has an individual record, and the filter at the top can be used to search for earnings within specific dates. If you click on the 'eye' icon, you'll be able to access a pdf version of the summary.
Placement rates
All of our placement adverts will clearly show how much the self-employed carer is paid. You should be able to see the weekly rate as well as a prorated daily rate. If applicable, any enhancements will also be clearly stated. (Note: starting enhancements are calculated in the first payment summary).
My payment isn't correct, what should I do?
If you believe there is an error with your summary, please contact us at [email protected] or send us a message via chat.
Please explain which specific summary is incorrect, as well as the placement dates and expected payment amount. A member of our team will investigate this and get back to you as soon as possible.
