Once you are confirmed on a placement you will be expected to organise your own travel to arrive at your placement for a handover. A handover is usually between 12 and 2pm unless you are told otherwise.

It’s important to plan and organise your travel well in advance to ensure there are no delays and you arrive at your placement on time.

If you think you might arrive late to your placement please contact the outgoing carer in the first instance and then, let us know your updated arrival time as soon as possible.

If the outgoing carer is facilitated through the Elder Platform then their phone number will be made available to you via the ElderHub, so you can also keep in touch about arrival time during your travels.

It’s incredibly important to arrive on time so that a thorough handover can be conducted. The time to arrive at your placement is between 12 and 2pm unless told otherwise by Elder.

Elder monitors placement cancellations and lateness for quality assurance purposes. If you are consistently late to placements this may affect your ability to find work and can result in removal from the platform, so it’s important that you remain reliable and always let us know if plans change.
