In very rare circumstances, a placement may be cancelled at short notice, for example, if the care recipient has been hospitalised or is moving to a residential care home. In these situations, we’ll let you know what’s happened as soon as possible, and do our best to help ensure you are reimbursed for any travel expenses you’ve already incurred.

To claim reimbursement for travel expenses, head to your profile within the Elder Hub, and click on the ‘claim travel expenses’ button. Here you will be able to complete the form for each journey travelled.

Please note: Reimbursements will be added to your earnings summary the Monday after the date of travel. If you are claiming a reimbursement after you have already travelled, then it will appear in a summary the Monday after you submit your claim.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer compensation for any scheduled work that has been cancelled or cut short.
